- insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute - turn the key to the first position and wait a minute - turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute - start the engine - take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch - reset the clock (and radio on the C3). ----- I reset it and two days later the same happened. I then read the handbook (page 23) and it tells you if the remote battery is getting low the service light will come on. Sure enough I reset it again and started using the other remote key and have not seen the spanner since. Problem added: Dec 10, 2020 (3 years ago) Our C4GP has stopped recognising one of our keys completely and is now starting to fail to recognise the second. We've replace batteries in both fobs and followed the manual instructions to reset the key.
Location: Sunderland tyne & wear. BigJohnD wrote a) Check the child locks on the rear doors. b) Check your "Settings" for what action is taken when using the key fob. There's a choice between "Driver's door only" and "All doors". On the child locks, I can't check them until I get the doors open.
A friend took the battery out and told me to get it replaced. Now on enquiring from Halfords, apparently unless the battery is replaced with new one within 10 minuites, all the programme data is wiped off and key will need reprogramming. On looking at costs, it seems this could be £100 + via main dealer. oiwH0m.
