The UHD Blu-ray was reviewed on a Samsung UE55KS8000 Ultra HD TV and a Samsung UBD-K8500 Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Now, this is the title that many UHD adopters have been waiting for. Shot digitally (admittedly partly at only 2.8K), it is one of those increasingly rare films that was privy to a full 4K digital intermediate, leaving it room to The Dark Knight Trilogy has some absolutely gorgeous 4K transfers! Nolan films always look amazing, and especially so in 4K. The IMAX sequences in particular really shine. The 4K editions should come with a Blu-Ray disc for each film as well so you should still be able to watch them in the meantime. It’s definitely worth the upgrade, and then The 4K upscaling technology optimizes your existing Blu-ray disc library to match the quality of 4K Ultra HD. By doing so, you can enjoy more realistic movies with deeper colors, sharper details, and more realistic textures. In addition, some models support High Dynamic Range (HDR), which enhances color vibrancy. Disc Two of the Blu-ray includes all the rest of the bonus content, much of it new and all of it in HD. First up are a trio of quick Deleted Scenes (4:06) that weren’t added back into the Extended Edition but are still worth checking out (including what is essentially an alternate ending to the film with voice over). Gremlins UHD 4K Blu-ray Sound. Just a DTS-HD MA 5.1 track on the disc, but luckily it is pretty good. Effects are well taken care of by all the speakers, so when the Gremlins are wreaking havoc around the town square, the destruction they wrought as well as their chatters and the screams of the people provide a decent sense of immersion.

When you DO get a proper UHD tv, 4K is beautiful. And you won't need to upgrade to 8K due to diminishing returns on resolution. UHD looks very good on a non HDR Set, TV has to be calibrated correctly and it will still look alot better than HD Blu Ray, I run HDR Discs on a tune meant for 3D and works fine.
